The New Menopause: Living Your Best (Mid) Life
May 13, 7-9pm
Mar Vista, Los Angeles
Featuring OCEANO WINES
Speaker: Dr. Debra Matityahu
Menopause is having a moment…and it’s about time. For generations, women were taught to endure this transition quietly — to push through symptoms, confusion, and change without language or support. But a new conversation has emerged, rooted in knowledge, empowerment, and possibility.
The New Menopause: Living Your Best (Mid) Life invites us to reclaim our bodies and approach this transition not as an ending, but as a renewed beginning.
Join us for an honest, empowering conversation with OB/GYN physician and Certified Menopause Practitioner, Dr. Debra Matityahu, where we’ll explore the realities of hormonal change, the evolving conversation around hormone therapy, body composition shifts (yes, the “Messy Middle”), sexual health, and what proactive, evidence-based care really looks like today.
This salon is designed to be informative but approachable, science-backed yet stigma-free — a space where curiosity is welcome and no topic is off-limits.
Together, we’ll explore:
- What’s actually happening hormonally — and why it matters
- How to advocate for your health with clarity and confidence
- Practical strategies for energy, sleep, mood, metabolism, and longevity
- The emotional and identity shifts that often accompany midlife
- How to step into this phase feeling strong, informed, and intentional
As with every Taste & Talk salon, this is not just an educational event. It’s a purpose-driven evening where meaningful dialogue is paired with curated wine and community — and where participation supports causes benefiting women and families. Proceeds for our May 13 salon will be split between our Taste & Talk 2026 beneficiary, Miry’s List, and Deb’s own foundation, Beyond Fistula, which provides social, emotional, educational, and entrepreneurial training and support to Kenyan women and girls who have survived obstetric fistula.
Deb is an OB/GYN physician and Certified Menopause Practitioner, who recently retired from The Permanente Medical Group at Kaiser Medical Center in Redwood City, California where she was Chief of Service. She currently consults for a telehealth menopause company and is medical advisor for two perimenopause/menopause start-ups. She is the co-founder of Beyond Fistula, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting education and economic empowerment for Kenyan women and girls who have survived obstetric fistula. She lives with her husband, Amir, and their two children, Ollie and Jake.
Menopause isn’t an ending.
It’s a powerful turning point.
